Our pork's natural great taste
is the result of careful care and control. Our pork tastes better because of the way the
hogs are raised.
The most delicious and safe
meats come from animals raised according to
the most strict organic production standards on
small to mid-size family farms that cooperatively
own our pork supplier.
These hogs are raised
unconfined and bedded on thick straw, given
plenty of room to roam and access to plenty of
fresh air and sunshine. All of this extra care
results in rich juicy pork with a delicious difference
you can taste.
Our organic pork follows a
less-is-more equation.
The reason organic pork is so good is because
of what they do without as they grow. Our suppliers
hog's feed is free of GMOs (genetically
manipulated organisms). They do not receive
rendered animal by products or antibiotics.
They are not exposed to pesticides, herbicides,
fungicides, synthetic fertilizers or irradiation.
Instead, they are free to pasture and are fed only
natural feed in an ecologically friendly and sustainable
farm environment.
Safety you can count on.
As with all pork, ours is USDA inspected for
wholesomeness or inspected by our state's systems
which have standards equal to the federal
government. Each animal and its internal
organs are inspected for signs of disease. The
"Passed and Inspected by USDA" seal insures
the pork is wholesome and free from disease.
Here is a little hog history.
Hogs were brought to Florida by Hernando
de Soto in 1525, and soon was America's most
popular meat. In the 19th century — as America
urbanized and people began living away from
the farm, "salt pork" — pork that is prepared
with a high level of salt to preserve it — became
the staple food. Pork has continued to be an
important part of our diet since that time.
Today premium natural pork is enjoying growing
gourmet popularity on the menus of fine
restaurants nationwide.
